Calculation methods and assumptions
Daily: electrical input kW × hours per day × days × electricity rate in dollars/kWh. For example, 4 × 6 × 30 × $0.30 = $216.00. This holds input constant; a ducted inverter's actual consumption varies with operation, zoning, weather, settings and the building. It is a scenario, not a bill forecast.
Annual: add the label's cooling and heating kWh for one climate zone, then multiply by dollars/kWh. The monthly average is annual cost ÷ 12, not a prediction of seasonal bills. Use this method only when annual label data is available for your model. Government label guide.
Both methods exclude installation, maintenance, fixed supply and demand charges, and solar credits. Daily mode excludes standby use. Use a GST-inclusive tariff and calculate time-of-use rate periods separately.
Where do I find electrical input?
Check the manufacturer's specification for the complete indoor and outdoor system combination in your chosen mode. Electrical input is the power the system uses; heating or cooling capacity describes its output. If only component figures are shown, ask the manufacturer or our team to confirm the correct total. Will closing zones reduce my cost by the same percentage?
No fixed percentage is assumed here. Zoning changes the load, but a ducted system's electrical input does not necessarily fall in direct proportion to the number of rooms. Use supported system data rather than dividing full-system input by the number of zones.
Can this choose my replacement system?
