Care & maintenance
Does your ducted system need attention?
At a glance
Persistent weak airflow, new noises, leaks or reduced comfort are reasons to arrange an assessment. A symptom does not identify the fault. Internal repairs belong with a qualified technician.

Decide
Repair or replacement scope
01 / Describe what changed
Is one zone uncomfortable, or the whole house? Note when the issue starts, which operating mode is selected and any displayed error code. Photos taken from a safe position can help explain the symptoms.
A higher bill by itself is not a diagnosis. Weather, electricity prices and operating hours can also change. Have recent service records ready so the technician can understand the system's history.
02 / Keep checks simple
Check the controller's mode, timer and zone settings against the manual. Follow model-specific instructions for any user-accessible filter care. Do not enter a roof space or open equipment covers to investigate a fault.
Stop operating equipment with a burning smell or repeated protection trips and seek qualified help. Leave electrical and refrigerant work to qualified trades. A service visit can establish which checks or repairs are needed.
03 / Compare the next steps
If a fault is found, request the repair price, parts availability and any warranty coverage. Ask what other known issues would remain after the repair. Age alone does not settle the decision.
For a replacement option, compare the complete installed scope: equipment, ducts, controls and removal. Discuss the rooms you need to condition and any comfort problems the existing arrangement has never solved.

Common questions
Does weak cooling mean it needs refrigerant?
Not necessarily. Several faults can produce similar symptoms. Arrange diagnosis before deciding on a repair.
